Video: Quakers – Smoke (feat. Jonwayne)

Stones Throw are throwing some heavy punches this year. The label has been killing it with next level releases by new signings like Homeboy Sandman flipping his infinite rhyme styles as well as beatmaker/emcee Jonwayne and of course, Portishead Geoff Barrow a.k.a. Fuzzface’s Quakers project with 7-Stu-7 and Katalyst.

This new video for the track “Smoke” from the Quakers album features Jonwayne on the mic and a classic gritty style video. The top two comments on YouTube at the time of writing talk about Jonwayne being the Peter Jackson of hip hop and mention that this is Stones Throw back to its essence.

This is a reminder of the label that put out Madvillain and Quasimoto releases, the very finest in cutting edge alternative hip hop. Like I said, this year Stones Throw is going hard, looks like the future holds plenty of excitement.
