What happens if you deconstruct Paul’s Boutique by the Beastie Boys and replace all samples used by production crew Dust Brothers? A Dutch producer put himself up to the challenge and went all in: staying as close to the original samples and loops as possible (including digging for new samples in the right time period), and not deviating from the vibe of tracks such as “Car Thief” and “Hey Ladies.”
The new BB PB EP O includes eight versions that didn’t make the cut. Try-outs, studies and early demos exploring the original productions. From a minimalistic take of “Shake Your Rump” to heading into a wrong era for “Looking Down The Barrel of a Gun.”
