Video: Ka – Decisions

This is something that should be spread far and wide. So much of mainstream and popular hip hop promotes undesirable ideals like violence, substance abuse, misogyny, and so on. Unfortunately many of those rappers are icons and role models for the younger generation, so it is always refreshing and inspiring to see an artist embracing the notion that hip hop is for the kids.

This video for “Decisions”, a track from Ka’s recent album Grief Pedigree, shows Ka rapping directly to the youth. His rhymes tackle the many difficult choices we must make in our journey through life, and encourages us to choose wisely. This is the potential of hip hop. I hope kids see this and are inspired… I’m still a kid really… and I’m inspired. I hope you are too. Some of my friends call me Ka, so blessings from Ka and Ka to you lovely reader.
