This weekend marks the 40th Anniversary of the legendary TV show “Soul Train” that showcased so many amazing soul, funk, R&B, and hip hop performances from  October 1971 to March 2006. The show was a crucial source of music, fashion, and culture throughout its 35 year history.

In celebration of the Anniversary, Soul Train will be digging through their archives and sharing some amazing classic footage for us to enjoy. This first upload is absolutely fantastic and features Gladys Knight & The Pips performing on the first ever episode of Soul Train. Enjoy!
