New Track and Video of Dr. Dundiff’s SGJazz Collective

Last Sunset by SGJazz connects a few dots for me: The Find’s latest Jazzvolution vinyl record focused more on beatmakers who have evolved into (multi) instrumentalists.

Shortly after, I received Dr. Dundiff’s The Distance from L.A.-based label Cold Busted, which I absolutely loved. Partly because his melting pot of beats, soul, and jazz made a great fit with that aforementioned direction. And now there’s a video for Dr. Dundiff’s new neo-soul/jazz group. Illustrated by MC Blue Matter, who we recently started collaborating with for our brand new beatmakers series called The Limelight. Full-circle!

The collective features Dr. Dundiff on drums and percussion, Idris Frederick on Rhodes, Patrick Denney on bass, Anthony Keenan on guitar, Noah Reed on saxophone and flute, and Reid Gross on trombone. Their self-titled debut album is set for a release on August 30 via Jakarta Records. Pre-order via the Bandcamp link below.

Just an ordinary guy always on the hunt for extraordinary music. Not just as the founder of The Find Magazine & Rucksack Records, but also as a freelance music journalist (bylines at Tracklib, Bandcamp, Wax Poetics, DIG Mag, among others) and—above all—out of love for all kinds of good music.
