Nas & Quasimoto are ‘Nasimoto’, by D. Begun

Mashup albums are usually more misses rather than hits. But every now and then we find an exception–with the work of Amerigo Gazaway for Gummy Soul being a prime example. Nasimoto by David Begun is another one, blending instrumentals from The Unseen with some of Nas’ best verses.

The album contains twenty-one tracks to spark your fantasy about an actual collaboration between Nas and Madlib’s enigmatic Lord Quas alter ego. Or as one of the backers on Bandcamp puts it, “The culmination of nostalgia: Nas meets Madlib. A must own for any hip hop beat junkie.”

Just an ordinary guy always on the hunt for extraordinary music. Not just as the founder of The Find Magazine & Rucksack Records, but also as a freelance music journalist (bylines at Tracklib, Bandcamp, Wax Poetics, DIG Mag, among others) and—above all—out of love for all kinds of good music.
