We present to you, the first installment in a series of short mixes showcasing Peruvian music! This mix features Afro-Peruvian rhythms along with some rare Peruvian funk and jazz.

The mix was compiled by The Find affiliate Kamir (a.k.a. Some Wicked) from vinyl records he purchased last year on his two trips to Peru. It’s recorded live at CFBU 103.7 fm Brock Radio in Ontario, Canada.

Kamir has just recently graduated university and will be moving to Peru within the next two months. There he will continue to dig through boxes and boxes of dusty LPs and 7″s to bring the sounds of Peru to your ears.

If you like these rhythms from Peru, check out Secret Stash Records who have recently released a great vinyl compilation of Peruvian Funk, and are soon to release a vinyl compilation of Afro-Peruvian music!

If you are interested in original Peruvian vinyl records, I recommend a trip to Galerias Quilca in Lima, or if you can’t make it to Peru, feel free to contact him at kamirhiam [@] gmail dot com and I can try and help you find the sounds you seek.
