Cee Knowledge a.k.a. Doodlebug (of the legendary Digable Planets crew) presents this new hip hop compilation featuring a wide array of emcees. The likes of Lord Jamar (of Brand Nubian), General Steele (of Smif-n-Wessun), Booty Brown (of The Pharcyde), and Black Ice of Def Poetry Jam all contributed to this compilation.
Honestly we’re not feeling the cliched cover art, and the intro sounds like you’re about to listen to a hardstyle mix. But look past that for a handful of nice material. You’ll mostly find hard-hitting tracks with an underground vibe on The Expendables, but also some mellow hip hop songs like “Melting” and “Oh My Gawd”, as well as a cool dreamy remix of Digable Planets’ “9th Wonder”.
