Blue Vinyl: Mr. J Medeiros – Pale Blue Dot

Pale Blue Dot” features Stro taking a different approach to hip hop crafting a mellow electronic tinged instrumental meshed with Mr. J’s poignant rhymes reflecting on the state of our society. The B-side remix by 20syl (of Hocus Pocus/C2C) features Canadian emcee Shad.

We’re very excited to present our very first vinyl release. It’s a limited edition 7” vinyl single for “Pale Blue Dot”, a brand new song from Mr. J. Medeiros produced by Stro Elliot (both formerly of The Procussions). The B-side is home to a “Pale Blue Dot” remix by none other than 20syl of Hocus Pocus with a guest verse from the brilliant Canadian emcee Shad.

“Pale Blue Dot” features Stro taking a different approach to hip hop crafting a mellow electronic tinged instrumental meshed with Mr. J’s poignant rhymes reflecting on the state of our society and complemented with a haunting chorus from Giannina Ashe. The remix features 20syl’s unique reinterpretation of the original track, providing further depth and broken beat grooves as well as insightful raps from Shad adding his wisdom to the wax. The digital single “Pale Blue Dot” is also available here for free.

This is Mr. J’s first appearance on wax since 2007’s critically acclaimed Of Gods and Girls 12” and is available for one time only on 200 beautiful blue records with hand-numbered sleeve artwork by Nathan Travis.
