CRAC – All For You (Rare Funk/Soul Reissue)

KU once again shows who’s king. The UK label unearthed a rare funk/soul LP with the help of their friend and fellow digger Beatnick Dee. This is the first reissue on vinyl of CRAC’s All For You since the original release in 1980.

CRAC was formed in 1974 by bassist/vocalist Rick Cua, drummer Tommy Rozzano, keyboardist Larry Arlotta, and lead singer/percussionist Ricky Chisholm. Later they added two new members: guitarist Ronnie DeRollo and singer/percussionist Duane “Spoon” Walker.

“It’s so wonderful that a younger generation now finds out about our music – that’s almost forty years later!,” tells Rick Cua over Skype with a proud grin. “To me, All For You is like a time capsule of the late 70s and entering the 80s. We were all about the music at that time. I remember doing shows late at night, and after that not going home but instead, sharing new music and tapes with each other on the parking lot and in our van. Just geeking out together over music from Steely Dan, King Crimson, Steam… Man, it was such a great time. I think our music is still appealing to a newer audience thanks to that authenticity. We did what we loved, and we loved what we did.”

The LP via KingUnderground comes with a bonus 45 featuring two previously unreleased tracks. Listen to the first few tracks off All For You below:
